Another day, another Leavers Assembly!

Today was the turn of Emma's leavers assembly, another emotional roller coaster for all concerned......

Jo was off again today, so she took Megan to school while the other two chilled at home with me.  There was a meeting at the junior school for all the new parents to hear more about what next year holds for their little treasures.  Apparently it almost kicked off a couple of times - I think some Mums were getting a little upset over the transition from Infants to Juniors!!

Jo then took Rosie to swimming with Emma while Mr Mum took advantage of the time by having his summer trim at the barbers - great service, you get a nice cup of coffee, head massage, magazine to read and a TV to watch - not bad i think for a barbers!

After lunch and Rosie's power nap, it was off to the leavers assembly, well almost, couple of diversions first - dropped Rosie with T as we didn't really want her at the show, and then it was on to the pub to meet up with the other mums and dads and enjoy a quick cold one in the sunshine before heading back to the school to take our seats for the show.

The pre school had decided to do the show outside in a marquee which was a good idea, so as like yesterday there was a large queue forming by the time we got there but ended up with reasonable second row seats right opposite Emma, so all good.

They rattled through a few songs with no major incidents, Emma had a frog hat on for her starring role in the animal song "and the frogs go croak croak croak" she sang before handing over to a group of cows! We were then handed little presents from our respective kids before going out for a stroll around and a glass of juice.

It was then time to leave and walk over to Megan's classroom to see her.  We weren't picking her up today as she had a school disco to participate in first.  So all the kids rushed out, grabbed their change of clothes from their mums and rushed back in to change.  Fortunately, they are not quite at the stage of needing to do their make up and hair, although I doubt it will be too long!!

Jo was helping at the disco so I strolled VERY VERY slowly home with the other two.  Rosie had her scooter but decided against using it so I had to carry that and about 500 other things collated from the day so you can imagine with Rosie walking it took some time to get home.

We finally made it just before the sun went down! and enjoyed what was left of the day in the garden before Megan came back from her Disco absolutely hammered!!! just kidding, not quite at that stage yet!!

Tea and bed finished off a very busy day.

have a good weekend one and all - I'm off for a beer and a chance to relaaaaaaaaax.

PS Happy Birthday A!
