Today is officially Mumsters Day so go out and rejoice! In some circles, they call it Mothers Day, but what do they know. I think we all prefer Mumsters Day so that is what it will be from now on.
I dont normally cover the weekends but it has been action packed so far so thought I would add a few lines. Yesterday was the school Easter Fair, I was volunteered for the first shift on the Jam Jar Tombola stand with my glamorous assistant T. The demand for Jam Jars was fierce and we managed to shift quite a few (including the Man Utd one Megs did!). We were then relieved of our duties and the rest of the family arrived to enjoy the fair.
About 4 hours and £40 later we had successfully completed the fair - easter egg hunt done, bouncy castle done, mumster day present done, decorate a china foot (dont ask) done, tears done, chutney purchased, sweets eaten, fights over remain sweets done, cup of coffee drunk and Man Utd came from 2-0 down to win 4-2 to all good!
Today, being national Mumsters day, Emma and I went to buy some flowers while Megan went swimming. You would think buying flowers was a pretty mundane event, but not with Mr Mum and Emma! We arrived at the flower stand (a popular stand in a pub car park, which is well know for well priced flowers) and the queue was about 50 deep, of which 90% were blokes looking to pick up a bunch of flowers. This was at 9.30 this morning, by 9.40 they had run out of flowers so we had to wait 20 mins for a new delivery.
Just as we were buying ours, I noticed someone I recognised out of the corner of my eye, I thought, could it be him, surely not, he is miles from his home.....my heart started beating faster as it dawned on me that it was actually him, he was standing next to me buying flowers at the same flower stand, I could not believe it! I guess you want to know who it was - well, sit down before you read this because its quite exciting - it was none other than Gus Poyet, yes thats right Gus Poyet.....unbelievable don't you think?
For that minority of mumsters who dont know him, he is the current Brighton and Hove Albion (football club) Manager and is currently sitting top of League one with an excellent chance of being promoted to the Championship to play teams like dirty dirty Leeds, Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace (although Palace will probably swap leagues with Brighton in the summer!). Mr Poyet, we Salute you!
Anyhows, that brings you all right up to speed, I will catch you all tomorrow when I get a chance, we all know Mondays are busy busy!
Enjoy Mumsters Day!
